Outdoor living in Nolensville, planned with the pool

In Nolensville we design the covered kitchens, pergolas, fire features and seating that turn a pool deck into somewhere to spend the evening. Angela was raised here, and our Tranquility Terrace project shows what happens when the shade and the water are planned together.

What is Tranquility Terrace?

It is one of our Nolensville projects. The footage looks out from under a timber pergola, past loungers set on the pool’s ledge, with the brick house alongside. You can see it on the project gallery.

The view is the point. A pergola placed where you would actually sit, facing the water, is what gets a backyard used on a weeknight.

Why plan the pergola and kitchen with the pool?

Separate contractors for the pool, the hardscape and the kitchen tend to leave grade and drainage conflicts where their work meets. One plan avoids that. Our outdoor living design sets the footings, the gas and electrical runs, the lighting and the fall of the patio before the pool is dug, so nothing new has to be cut back open.

If the pool comes first and the kitchen a year later, the plan still shows where it will go. Footings and conduit can be placed early.

How does Nolensville handle pool permits?

The Town of Nolensville Building Codes Department issues them. Its Swimming Pool Permit Application goes in by email to codes@nolensvilletn.gov, and third-party listings place the office at 7218 Nolensville Rd., 615-776-3633. Once the permit is in hand, Tennessee law requires an 811 locate request no less than 3 working days before excavation.

What is the ground like?

Nolensville is mostly flat with a few hilly areas, and the town grew up along Mill Creek. Flat lots make patios and pergolas simple; a hillier one may need a retaining wall to make room for a level kitchen. The site visit tells us which kind of lot you have, whether it’s in Bent Creek, Ballenger Farms, Summerlyn or near Chrismon Brown Park.

Pools in Nolensville: common questions

How do I apply for a pool permit in Nolensville TN?

Email the town’s Swimming Pool Permit Application to codes@nolensvilletn.gov, where the Nolensville Building Codes Department reviews it. The form is posted on the department’s page at nolensvilletn.gov. Leave time for that review in the schedule, because the permit has to be in hand before the 811 request and the excavation can begin.

What does a pergola add next to a pool?

Shade where you sit, and a frame for lighting. Our Tranquility Terrace project in Nolensville is seen from under a timber pergola, looking out to the loungers on the pool’s ledge. Set at the edge of the deck, a pergola makes the patio feel like a room without closing off the view of the water.

Is Angela from Nolensville?

Yes. Angela, who founded Angelic Hardscapes & Pools in 2026, was born in Nashville and raised in Nolensville. She holds a Business Management degree from MTSU, spent a decade in healthcare operations, and has worked in pool construction since 2023, first as VP of Operations for several pool builders.

Can an outdoor kitchen be built in the same project as a pool?

Yes, and planning them together is the safer route. One contractor sets the pool, the patio grade, the kitchen footings and the utility runs in a single plan, which avoids the drainage and grade conflicts that come up when three separate crews meet in one yard. The kitchen itself can still be built later.
