Fiberglass pool installation in Mount Juliet

In Mount Juliet we install fiberglass pools and the decks, patios and covered spaces around them. The city reviews a pool in two stages, Planning and Zoning first and then Building and Codes, so the plot plan has to be settled early.

How does Mount Juliet permit a pool?

The City of Mt. Juliet’s pool guidelines begin with a plot plan reviewed by Planning and Zoning. Once that clears, Building and Codes runs a plan review through the city’s online portal, and the upload includes the pool alarm and the fence. With two reviews in line, moving the pool late means starting over, so we fix its spot during design.

The 811 request follows. It goes in at least 3 working days before the dig, and no earlier than 10 working days ahead.

Why choose fiberglass here?

Speed and upkeep. A fiberglass shell comes with molded steps, benches and a tanning ledge, goes into its hole within days of the excavation and is usually holding water inside a week, with no replastering ahead of it. Shapes come from the manufacturer’s molds, so you choose from set outlines. For a freeform shape we’d build a gunite pool instead.

What about the lakes and the ground?

Mount Juliet sits between Old Hickory Lake and Percy Priest Lake, and Wilson County is known for limestone cedar glades. Neither fact tells you what is under one backyard. The visit on site looks at soil, grade, drainage and where water collects after rain, which sets the excavation, the backfill and how the pool deck drains.

Near Charlie Daniels Park or out by Cook’s United Methodist Church, the process is the same: consultation, design, construction on a site cleaned daily, and a final walkthrough.

Can a fiberglass pool be financed?

Yes. Our financing page links HFS Financial, Lyon Financial and VistaFi, and HFS and VistaFi both let you see a rate without a hit to your credit. Jennifer Jones, who chose fiberglass, wrote that Angela “consistently over-communicated throughout the entire process.”

Pools in Mount Juliet: common questions

What is the pool permit process in Mt Juliet TN?

It runs in two steps. Planning and Zoning reviews a plot plan first; after that, Building and Codes does a plan review through the city’s online portal, mtjuliet-tn.govbuilt.com. The upload includes the pool alarm and the fence details, so both are chosen during design, before the application goes in.

Do fiberglass pools need resurfacing?

No. A fiberglass shell comes with a factory-finished surface, so it never needs the replastering a gunite pool’s interior eventually does. That is one of the main reasons people pick it, along with speed: the shell goes in within days of the dig, with water following inside a week.

What shapes do fiberglass pools come in?

Whatever the manufacturer molds, which means a set range of outlines in fixed sizes. Steps, benches and tanning ledges are molded into the shell, so their positions come with the model you choose. If you want a shape outside that range, or a vanishing edge, gunite is how you get it.

What happens at the final walkthrough?

The final walkthrough is the fourth step of our process. Angela goes over the finished pool, patio and equipment with you and answers your questions before the job is closed out. It follows the construction step, when the site is cleaned each day and you get regular updates on progress.
